FAQs

After starting this site a day or two ago I've been asked a few questions by people wanting to understand some things about the site. Hopefully this section will cover all the important things you want to know.

Why do games have a "score" and a "mark?
The games score is based on a technical measure using things like sounds, graphics, originality and addictiveness. This score penalises games heavily if they are a clone which doesn't always reflect how fun a game is to play. The game "mark" is based on a more traditional scoring system with A* being the best and F being the worst. C is around average and is worth a play though won't be the sort of must have game whilst F is effectively a broken game, D and E are poor games, B (B-, B and B+) are good games whilst A and above are must get games.

Why only free games? The games reviewed are only free games for the simple reason that I'm a cheapskate and refuse to pay for any games to do with this site. If I start to pay for games their reviews will likely sit on a separate page with in the site rather than the main blog. Like many other Android users I don't want to rack up a huge cost of games and with so many good games available for free I'll be tending to keep to those.

What phone are you testing games on?The phone I will be using most of the time is the Samsung Galaxy S2 though some games may be played on a HTC Wildfire. The Galaxy S2 is one of the most up to date phones on the market so if a game struggles to run on the Galaxy S2 you know it's unlikely to work on other phones with lower specs. The phone is currently running Android version 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) though will updated when then updates become available.

The phone isn't being rooted and all games will be form the Android market.

Will you review my game?
If you tell me what the game is I'm happy to review it. Please take the review as my view and any and all feedback is genuine.
